ERPNext modules, in plain language

ERPNext is broad enough to be confusing at first glance. Most small and mid-sized businesses in Maharashtra only need four or five parts of it, and it helps to know which.

Accounts is your books: sales and purchase invoices, payments, taxes, and the reports your CA asks for. This replaces Tally for most businesses, and it is where we usually start.

Stock is what you hold and where. Receipts, deliveries, transfers between godowns, batch and serial tracking if you need it, and a valuation that updates as you post rather than at month end.

Buying and Selling are the paperwork around those movements: quotations, orders, and the approvals in between. This is where simplification matters most, because these are the screens your staff use dozens of times a day.

Manufacturing covers bills of material, work orders and job cards. Worth turning on when you assemble or process; worth leaving off when you only trade.

CRM, Projects, HR and Payroll exist too. We recommend switching them on later, one at a time, once the core is genuinely being used. Turning everything on at once is the fastest way to overwhelm an office.

Whatever you enable, the rule is the same: fewer screens, filled correctly, beat a complete implementation that nobody trusts.
